Ryan Bellmore selected for Venturing Leadership Award PDF Print
Our very own Ryan Bellmore has been selected by the council to receive the Venturing Leadership Award. Please congratulate him next time you see him.
He will be receiving his award at an awards dinner on April 11th, 2010 at Windows on the River in the flats from 4pm-7pm. Anyone can attend the dinner for the cost of $30 per person. I encourage people to be there to support Ryan as he receives this award. I believe reservations can be made through the council office.

Congratulations Ryan!!!!!

Registration coming PDF Print

Re-registration is merely paying the $33 fee before the end of February.  You can pay from your scout account.  New members pay $43 - the additional $10 helps cover the cost of the neckerchief, slide and book that the troop provides.

If you have money in your "Scout" account from selling popcorn, the troop will pay your membership fee out of that account so that you won't need a check.  Mr. Genco will contact you if you need to pay by check (or cash).

Blue & Gold and Webelos Crossing Ceremonies PDF Print

If you will be attending one of these events because your family is involved in the Pack, please let me know so that I can put you in the Honor Guard team for the event.  Likewise, if you came out of the pack and want to be in the Honor Guard, let me know.

You must have all of your uniform parts in order to be in the Honor Guard for the Webelos Bridging Ceremonies (neckerchief, slide, shoulder-rope)

Klondike Derby Results PDF Print

We survived!  Many thanks to the parents who camped with us to make it possible to experience a safe and fun Winter Camp.  Mr. Sowers and Mr. Sasala. 11 camped Friday, 17 were there during the day Sat., 12 camped Sat.

Thanks to Brett for taking the patrol box home - it was probably a mess because the food froze on the pots and utensils.

We did well on most events but the hatchet throw station low score took us out of the running for overall.  Sounds like something we should arrange to do on a campout!

Camping 1 or 2 nights were: Brett A., Zach D., Patrick L., Mason L., Nathan N., Dan S., Christian S., Kyle S., Evan V., Clayton W., and Jon W.
Coming out for the day's events were:  Jimmy M. Ben G., Joe G.

Northern Tier Trip Plans PDF Print

The Northern Tier trip plan is in the early stages but this is what we have:

  • We would like to go at the end of July. Dates available are July 29th- Aug 4th or July 30th- Aug 5th.
We also have a few more options later in Aug. Such as Aug 5th- 10th, Aug 6th-Aug 11th or Aug 7th- Aug 12th.
These of course are just the dates for the camp. We would have to add two days before the trip and at least one day after the trip for travel time.
  •  The estimated cost of the trip is $850 total per person. That is without any fundraisers. There are already dates for 2 more pancake breakfasts to help with the costs. Plus there should be some money in the high adventure fund from last year when we did fundraisers but no trip.*
  •  Each participant must be 13 years old by Sept 1, 2010. and be able to pass a BSA swim test. Each crew must consist of 6-8 people (at least 2 adults and up to 6 scouts/venturers)
  • We currently have 4 people signed up who are interested and if we pick the later dates I could get a few more. Last time we rented vans and drove to Minnesota. It drastically reduced the price of the trip by almost $300 per person and gave the trip an added sense of adventure.
  • We are still in need of interested adults. The sooner we make the reservation the better so we don't lose our favorite dates.
  • There are camperships available through Northern Tier but the due date is soon approaching. The deadline is January 31st and the application can be found at http://www.ntier.org/Reservations_WildernessCanoeTrips.html.
    Click on campership info link.
